Hello All, Following a helpful chat with a local resident, I’ve decided to add relevant Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB) calls to our weekly updates. This will give you a clearer picture of what has been reported to us versus what hasn’t. Just like the crime listings, I won’t be including any personal or domestic disputes between individuals. The more reports we get the more we know its an issue. You can report ASB online at: https://www.met.police.uk/ro/report/asb/asb-v3/report-antisocial-behaviour/
Read on to find out what has been happening.
Anti-Social Behaviour
Trespassing
Theft of a Vehicle
Theft from a Vehicle
Theft
Assault
Please always remember to remove all valuables and goods from your vehicles when leaving them unattended. Sadly, opportunistic thieves will steal absolutely anything.
That is everything for this week. Until next time, be good, have fun, and stay safe. Beckton Neighbourhood Policing Team
Did you know… The Haunted Pub of Custom House: The Connaught Tavern The Landlord’s Aunt: The most prominent legend tells of a former landlord's aunt who tragically died by suicide in a second-floor bedroom during the late 19th century. For generations, residents and bar staff reported an unsettling, heavy presence on the upper floor, accompanied by sudden drops in temperature and the eerie sensation of being watched. Fred the Protective Poltergeist: Local lore records that the tavern was also home to a much louder spirit named Fred. According to accounts from past workers, Fred was usually protective of the tavern staff but had a stubborn streak. If a barmaid played a record he disliked too many times, the record player would inexplicably jam or shut off entirely. On one famous occasion, when patrons openly mocked the idea that the pub was haunted, a glass lifted into mid-air and shattered into pieces to prove Fred was listening. | ||
